Alyssa Mann
Bio
As both a massage therapist and personal trainer, Alyssa takes a unique
approach to training her clients. Mostly because she knows that once
she makes them sore, she can then massage them and make them not
sore. She received her personal training license in 2005 after
experiencing a big weight loss of her own. She has helped dozens of
clients achieve their individual goals, and in return she has been lucky
enough to have many of them help her on her path as well. She loves
working with people hoping to lose weight, tone up and overall live a
healthier lifestyle.
Alyssa earned her massage therapy license in 2007 from the Swedish Institute in NYC,
and has worked steadily ever since. She works mostly with clients
dealing with aches and pains from training or those in rehabilitation
from an injury. She also does her fair share of lovely relaxation
massages. A tough but kind trainer and therapist, Alyssa pushes her
clients to work their hardest while still being positive, non-judgmental
and fun. She loves to laugh and tries not to take herself too
seriously.

If you could be any animal, which one would you prefer to be and why?
I’d be a dog. Dogs are awesome, they are so astonishingly able to forgive and let things roll off their backs. Once they love you they are amazingly loyal and sweet. Plus they spend part of the day napping in the sun, part eating and part running around…which is basically my dream life.
What traits in others are you attracted to?
I appreciate people who tell it like it is. There is a fine line between being rude and truthful, and those who stay on the truthful side of it forever earn my admiration and respect. I also love those with a sense of humor!! Life it too short not to laugh.
Where is your favorite place to spend a day off?
I grew up by the beach, and I love, love spending all day lying on the beach and swimming in the ocean. Last year I went on a cruise to the Caribbean with three of my closest friends, which was AMAZING.
Who is your favorite action hero?
I would say my favorite is Batman. There’s something I love about the whole darkness and willing to bend the rules for the greater good thing. He is one of the only ones I feel like really thinks outside the box and has this strict moral code that he adheres to.
What is your favorite saying?
I have several favorite sayings, however (for obvious reasons) let me give you the ones I like that relate the most to fitness. “No one ever says, ‘I wish I hadn’t gone to the gym today.’” Another one I like is, “80 percent of success is showing up.” Sensing a theme??? :)
